Give It – To Get It!

Have you ever complained that something is missing in your life? Do you feel that you are not receiving what you want or what you believe you deserve? Or that someone has been ungrateful, disrespectful, disloyal, unkind, unloving or unaffectionate? Of course – we all have. But the fact is – what you are receiving actually parallels what you are giving. Don’t expect to receive anything that you are not prepared to give yourself. Or to put it another way – expect back what you give out. First give what you want to receive To receive gratitude, first give gratitude. To receive respect, first be respectful. To receive loyalty, first be loyal. To receive kindness, first show kindness. To receive love, first give love. And the reverse: To receive no gratitude, be ungrateful. To receive no respect, be disrespectful. To receive no loyalty, be disloyal. To receive no kindness, be unkind. To receive no love and affection, be unloving and unaffectionate. So if you don’t like what you are receiving – consider that it might just be a reflection of what you are giving. Give nothing – get nothing. Give the bad stuff – get back the bad stuff. But…

What Is Your Direction?

What direction are you headed in? Are you headed somewhere or nowhere in particular? I speak about goals versus directions. Goals are the small ticks on the way but the direction provides you with focus and purpose. You can fail on a goal but you can’t fail on a direction. When we don’t reach our goals we can feel disappointed and lose momentum. This is why you also need a direction.

When we focus on our directions – no matter what happens, even if at times it’s two steps forward and one step back – we know our intended direction. Many successful people understand and accept that although their destination is clear their journey may take many unexpected turns. When we know our direction we are less likely to give up at the first sign of a bumpy road. Choose a destination and you’ll find your direction
For many, the things we wish for remain wishes forever. I know from personal experience that really wanting something and making it real dramatically transforms both your personal and professional life. The one habit of setting value-based directions can mean the difference between mediocrity and great fulfillment.

There are three steps to take in order…

It’s Your Choice!

The way you live each day from the moment you wake up is your choice. You have freedom of choice. Do you agree with this statement? Consider your thoughts on this. In your current situation, you may not feel like you have choices but we can all choose to either take responsibility and action or remain in fear, being passive and settling for the way things are…… It’s your choice! Like planting seeds – you choose what you want to nurture and grow until it’s time to harvest. The seeds are your choices and what you do with those choices determines the quality of your life. As the late Zig Ziglar said “Every choice you make has an end result.” Consider the impact of your choices on where you are now or where you would like to be. Living in the Western world, there are so many choices and the desire to have it all can mean making a decision can be confusing, stressful and time consuming. With the potential for being overwhelmed, more than ever we have to make a careful choice and a quick choice. Careful and quick may seem conflicting – but too often we take so long deciding. The longer we take to choose, the…

Passion For What Matters!

I have the answer to why many start off each new year with the dreams for a better life but finish with no real improvement in their life satisfaction….. Goal setting is not enough I’ve been in business for 20 years, accomplished at setting and achieving goals. I helped my team do the same – my expertise with goal setting and achievement took me on stage to teach others. I had great results – a highly productive team, with lots of achievements, high incomes and profits. On top of this I had time with family and friends and a bit for myself. On paper it all looked perfect. I was satisfied in many areas but something was missing. I was not feeling fulfilled. Feeling a little disillusioned, I decided to write a list. This was not a list of goals but a “What am I passionate about?” list. This list was different to any I had ever written before. I decided to call this list… My Life Values Through this I discovered the secret that had previously escaped me: *If you want achievement set goals *If you want achievement and fulfilment set value-based directions. A life changing exercise This discovery became the…
