Ready Aim – DRAMA!

If getting things done that matter is the path to a full and rich life, getting stuck in drama may be the hard road to a dead end. We waste a lot of time and energy being in DRAMA and it is one of the biggest productivity killers! Life is a juggle however those who master their own productivity have the greatest achievement and fulfilment. By staying out of drama we can increase our productivity in a massive way – giving us many more effective hours in our day. Whether we realise it or not we go in and out of DRAMA all day – with our thoughts or verbally we can be: A persecutor – blaming, gossiping, judging, criticising A victim – poor me thinking, rehashing old suffering A rescuer – trying to help and please others often to your own detriment. Being in DRAMA is a habit that takes practice to break. It starts with being aware of when you are in DRAMA and shifting your focus quickly to move out of DRAMA. When we focus on what’s important we can make progress in a valued direction. It’s about accepting what is in your power to change and what…

Number One Priority!

Our health, both physical and mental, has a big influence on our fulfilment. In good health we can live the life we want, for as long as possible. But it’s often not until our health fails us that we really appreciate what’s at stake and then give our health the respect it deserves. Good health, when kept as the number one priority, gives us choices for life. No one would dispute that health should be number one priority. While many agree health is important, their actions towards living a healthy life are below par. So why do many make lifestyle choices that don’t support them? When I sit with my clients and complete an assessment to establish their fulfilment rating across all areas of their life, health is most often an area that is drained. Further analysis reveals that this can sabotage other aspects like wealth and relationships. On the surface poor health may seem to be due to bad nutrition, unhealthy habits, lack of exercise, too much stress or not enough sleep. But by going deeper and discovering what lies beneath these poor choices – the why we make these choices, we can turn our health into our number one priority. Are you putting your health before everything…

STOP The Masquerade!

Numbing our psychological pain protects us from feeling hurt. Although in the short term this cover-up provides some relief, in the long run the effects of anaesthetising what’s really going on can be harmful. Fear is often the reason for the masquerade – disguising problems and preventing us from finding solutions. For a better life – STOP the masquerade! At times, we don’t realise that we are living in fear: fear of not having enough money, being alone, not being loved, being rejected, losing our job, failure and even success. Sometimes our calm exterior hides the fear inside and we sabotage our success.

What are you using to numb the pain? Alcohol, drugs, oversocialising, oversleeping, overeating or maybe working too much. Do you need some help and new skills so you can face the fear and take action to stop the masquerade?

In real estate, a lot of courage was required to door knock strangers and make regular prospecting calls. Fear of rejection was constant – even for the best and most experienced. But rather than covering up the fear the key was to feel the fear and keep prospecting anyway. Those that approach life expecting the No’s rather than avoiding them understand that every…

Success May Look Easy

High achievers can make success look easy. But we know that success is NOT always easy to come by and takes discipline and commitment. There is often an interesting back story to someone’s success that involves a lot of hard work! While it may look easy to the onlooker there is rarely an easy road to success. Ask anyone who has reached a high level of success in their personal and/or work life and you will hear their stories of effort, courage, persistence and resilience. Their cool, calm and collected exterior may make it all look like it’s been easy but once you hear the back story you know that their journey has had its fair share of bumps in the road. So how do high achievers make success look easy? 1.     They get on with it rather than talking about it. 2.     They get the things done that matter. 3.     They take responsibility and stay out of drama. 4.     They are focused on a clear path ahead. There are high achievers who work hard, stay focused and get on with it but are still not happy – fulfilment escapes them. Getting things done is one thing but getting the things done that really matter is…
