Feel It In Advance!

One of the most successful tools you can develop is visualisation. By creating a mental image of what you want and then feeling the emotion associated with it you move closer to achievement. This powerful skill will test clarity, drive productivity and maintain motivation, all essential elements for getting the outcomes you want in life. Whether your target is losing weight, a pay rise, delivering a talk, asking someone out on a date, completing study, writing a book, a holiday, paying off debt or to have your best sales month ever, the key is to imagine and feel you have reached your destination in advance. Why imagine and feel what you have achieved before you are actually there? 1. It tests clarity: When we are clear we are more likely to succeed. When we test our strong desire, by checking into how we feel about what we are going for, we clarify our purpose. If the outcome doesn’t light you up, it may be time to choose a new target. Our feelings towards our desired outcome are like a barometer for clarity. 2. It drives productivity: As we proceed, it helps us to focus, persist and do the work as well as to…

Hit Your TARGET!

It may not necessarily be easy, but the way to reach your desired destination is often more simple than you think. When we get clear and stay focussed we are more likely to hit our TARGET! Think back over the last few years – have you set a goal and not reached it? Don’t be surprised – it happens to all of us. And did you get frustrated and annoyed with yourself for not reaching your goal? When this happens time and time again we can lose motivation, start feeling stuck and settle for a mediocre life.

As the author of How To Have It All I’ve identified key characteristics of those who maintain motivation and consistently hit their TARGET. They reject mediocre and live a life that rocks! I’ve created a model that shows you how. But before we get going in any direction – let’s stop and start at the beginning. It starts with deciding why you want to hit your chosen TARGET. Without a strong why many miss hitting their TARGET all their life. Finding clarity by getting super clear about your why is what will drive your productivity, fuel your discipline and lead you to your desired destination.

The secret to success is not so much deciding what your target…

HELP or HINDER?

Help Or Hinder? The fact is that the high cost of living, combined with our desire to have more and more, often means we are under constant pressure to get ahead. When we are aware of what we need to live, and what it will cost to get the extra things we want, we can often experience fear, which may either help us to achieve, or hinder our progress. In the short-term, fear of not meeting our commitments may motivate us, but in the long-term, there are negative consequences by being driven by fear, including stress. When we work each day and are motivated in a positive way, towards achieving success and meeting our commitments, we will thrive in the long-term. I believe the key to thriving in the long term is beautifully summed up by Thought Leaders mantra: do work you love, with people you like, the way you want. As an Accredited Thought Leaders Mentor I not only live each day doing work I love, with people I like, the way I like but I get to help others realise the same. With this privilege I get to spend time with motivated people who have hope and see the possibility for a better life, greater purpose, excitement…

Bask In The Glory Of Your Accomplishments!

Amongst all your hard work, take some time to feel the joy of your success. Do you bask in the glory when you accomplish something? Do you take time to celebrate and reward yourself? Why celebrate?

When it’s all about the work we may have the achievement but, without taking a moment to celebrate we can become stressed and dull – being always focused on the busy. Similarly when it’s all play, we may have excitement and fun, but without results so we can become drained and in denial about our life.

Knowing that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy and all play and no work makes Jack a drained boy – Jack (and Jill!) need to look after their mojo.

How to maintain your mojo?

Our mojo is that special magic that keeps us moving forward and bouncing back after a setback. Sustain your mojo by creating a healthy combination of work, rest and play driven by a sense of purpose. Recently I celebrated by taking well-deserved time out. As I lay soaking in a flower-filled, cream bath and followed by a scrub, massage and facial I felt grateful for the many wonderful things in my life.  I savored every moment taking the…
