Superpowers for success

All day we strive to get things done, to cross things off the To-Do list and all to be repeated the next day. But have you ever thought about those who turn up daily with unusually high amounts of energy, optimism, self-discipline, persistence and courage? These people think, talk, walk and act differently — they have mastered the superpowers for success. How do you show up each day? Are you enthusiastic and driven or perhaps lacking a zest for life or some oomph? Some say that nothing great can be achieved without enthusiasm — it’s the key to attracting what you desire. In fact the energy that comes from enthusiastic people can be difficult to resist — their joy is contagious. You can receive a jolt of gusto just by being around these high energy people. They stay optimistic and when they get knocked down or rejected they get back up quickly. But what creates such success? There are three superpowers for gigantic success — powers that strengthen us in the face of our own or others’ pessimism, apathy, indifference, doubt, fear or tiredness and keeps our enthusiasm for life: 1. belief 2. conviction 3. commitment These superpowers allow us to push…

Money is no guarantee for fulfilment

Think about those who have financial success and money for all the things they desire. Money certainly does bring some life satisfaction but it is not a guarantee of fulfilment. I’ve come across too many people who have lost sight of what they truly value as a result of chasing the almighty dollar. Many, even those with financial success, struggle at home and at work with: * working long hours *having too little personal time * not having enough time for important relationships * spare time being taken up with chores * their guilt or exhaustion when there is finally time to relax So having wealth alone, without other important components, is not a sustainable definition for success. What’s your definition of success? The definition of success is personal to each individual, but whatever success is to you it has to be aligned with what you value. For some people it’s to: * raise a happy family * get to the top of their industry * create financial independence * be the best they can be and to be fulfilled For True Believers, success is living life according to their values. It’s about getting the things done that really matter…

An unstoppable force

There is no easy way to reach greater purpose and fulfilment, but finding your why brings fewer bumps in the road and more enjoyable scenery. Without having your why and what aligned and without the powers of belief, conviction and commitment to drive you, your travels may lead to a dead end. For many, the first question is how? How do we create a picture of extraordinary business and life success? But is how really the first question? How is actually the second question. The first question should be why? Because having a compelling reason — having clarity around what you love, what you treasure and what is most important to you — is a massive step towards living a meaningful life. Our true values become our why. Once you have your why it’s about living that — making sure your why and your what are aligned. Have you ever lost the connection between your why and the what? When life is good they are all in alignment running in parallel paths. When there is a connection life rocks. But when your why separates from your what — when what you are doing and why you are doing it separate — then problems appear. Have you ever had them separate? It’s pretty painful when they do. Living with greater purpose and fulfilment is about keeping the why and what aligned. For True Believers a strong why is…

Live a life that matters

I’m a believer that anything’s possible. I actually think that your life is like a blank canvas and if you want to bridge the gap between the life you have and the life you want you need to paint your own masterpiece. The first step is to review your life now – this helps determine your future success. Here are some things we need to review regularly: * What’s working well? * What am I proud of? * What isn’t going to plan and why? * What can I do differently? * What does living a life that matters look like? Equipped with these answers we have an opportunity to work on our canvas and create a new picture. You must ask yourself, “Am I going to be active or passive about my life?”  If you are active about your decision-making and purposeful about where you are going you will have momentum and a clear direction. But as you begin to create the life you choose there are lots of people who will tell you that: * You can’t * You won’t * You shouldn’t But the bottom line is that you have to be a True Believer in the life you want to create. You…
